Berringa’s unique Manuka bioactive honey is harvested from bees that feed on the Leptospermum polygalifolium plant in Eastern Australia. This honey contains methylglyoxal (MGO), the naturally occurring organic compound uniquely responsible for Manuka Honey's potency. Free from additives, it can be enjoyed on its own or mixed into other foods and drinks.

The jar can be stored either upright or even upside down, allowing the honey to flow easily when the jar is squeezed.

What is MGO?

MGO in Manuka honey stands for Methylglyoxal, a compound found in the nectar of the Manuka flower. It is one of the key markers of the honey's quality and potency, particularly in terms of its antibacterial properties.

The higher the MGO content in Manuka honey, the more potent it is believed to be in terms of its health benefits, such as its ability to help with wound healing, digestive issues, and overall immunity.*  The MGO number on the label of Manuka honey typically indicates the amount of methylglyoxal (in milligrams) per kilogram of honey. For example, a Manuka honey labeled as MGO 200+ has 200 milligrams of MGO per kilogram of honey.
